Wisdom Tooth Extractions Westbury
Preserving Your Oral Health with Wisdom Tooth Extraction

Some people are born without wisdom teeth, while others are born with one, two, three, or four. While our ancestors once found these third molars to be very useful, today, they can lead to more issues than benefits. We’ll keep an eye on you and/or your children’s wisdom teeth at your routine appointments. That way, we can remove them before serious issues start. But, if you’re already experiencing wisdom teeth trouble, reach out today to get the care you need.

The Wisdom Tooth Process

Wisdom teeth don’t always need to be extracted, but in the cases where they do, the process may require a surgical or simple extraction procedure. For wisdom teeth that are impacted below the gumline, our oral surgeon will need to gain access to the tooth or teeth by making a small incision in the gumline. From here, they can split the tooth or teeth up into smaller pieces to remove them from the mouth (this approach leads to a faster and easier recovery).
If the wisdom teeth have erupted through the gumline, our team will simply elevate them out of their sockets and wiggle them free of any connective tissues. This will allow us to remove them from the mouth with ease.
