During her freshman year of her undergraduate studies, Dr. Maksumova decided to go into dentistry after accompanying her grandfather to a series of dental appointments. She was moved by witnessing how dental care can change someone’s quality of life and overall health. From then on, she knew that she wanted to have the same impact on her community.
Dr. Maksumova completed her undergraduate studies at King’s College Wilkes-Barre and attended the Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in New York. Following dental school, she completed a one-year general dentistry residency program at Lutheran Medical Center and stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in her field by taking continuing education courses every year. She also remains an active member of the American Dental Association.
Originally from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Dr. Maksumova is married and has a wonderful son. She loves reading books, traveling to see the world with her family, and taking long walks to local parks to enjoy the nature.
