Root Canal Treatment Westbury

Erasing Pain & Preserving Your Natural Smile

The pain that’s often associated with root canal treatment and scares patients is actually caused by the problem that they solve—toothaches stemming from an infection. In fact, this procedure has been shown to erase painful toothaches in addition to preserving the natural integrity of smiles, allowing patients to keep their grins intact while restoring their oral health. If you’re experiencing dental pain, please call our office so we can schedule a same-day emergency appointment for you.

What Happens During a Root Canal?

Root canals typically occur over the course of two appointments. First, your dentist in Westbury will access the interior of the affected tooth through the crown. This will allow them to remove the infected pulp and sanitize the inner chamber (removing the source of your pain), ensuring no harmful bacteria are left behind. Our team will then restore the structure of the tooth with a biocompatible substance called gutta percha and take impressions of it to create the crown. Once the crown has arrived at our office, we’ll call you back in for a second appointment to cement it atop the treated tooth.
